I  don't really know of any good sites per say but I do know of a great
book. It's called "Beginning Linux Programming" which is published by WROX
PRESS. Its a good book for newbies to 'nix C programming (like you) and
others who know considerably more. I use it as a handy reference manual
when I forget howto do something simply, then I don't have to write
another 100,000 lines of code to do something already done previously 
(like Microsoft). <G>
