Dear Friends, I was trying to edit XF86Config file according to
instructions from the XF86 website for my mouse. When I saved the
changes and attempted to reboot, I found that two of the options I
selected were incompatible, now I can't get back to the GUI interface to
reedit, and it really doesn't look like I can get to the file from text
mode. I tried chmod -rwx and now I can see the file /etc/X11/XF86Config
but it looks all bizarro like some kind of shadow or temp file, not
really where the kernel looks for settings. After I get done with this
post I will try a find / -name XF86Config but I found it the first time
in /etc/X11. Will I need to reinstall? The last
time I did ( 7/20 ) it took 14 hours and 12 attempts to get it
installed. I am using RH 7.1. By the way, since I am using copied disks,
I am tempted to go buy an OEM set but I wondered when the next version
is due. Has anyone heard?
