Thanks to the modern miracle of symbolic links, they are the same file.
From command line, run Xconfigurator to write a new XF86Config file.
(It doesn't seem to care what's in the existing file.)
You can also edit the XF86Config file using any ascii text editor; e.g.,
emacs, vim, jed, joe.
Since you had so much trouble installing, you might want to verify the
packages that have been installed. Don't know of a real easy way to do
this, but the following command should work:
rpm -qa | xargs rpm -V
This will probably give you some false positives, but if you see MD5
errors on non-config files (e.g., libraries), backtrack the files to
their packages (rpm -qf FILENAME) and reload the packages (rpm --freshen
PACKAGE).
