[linux-help] kernel problem

hi! need help in this: 
i have recompiled a 2.4.2 kernel on a Red Hat 6.1 Distribution Pentium MMX 
233MHZ computer . i have also configured lilo with the new image to boot. all 
the steps have been followed properly. but when at boot time, i give the new 
kernel label at lilo prompt, it says no setup
signature found, and just hangs...

what could be the problem and ths solution? thanks in advance.
