[linux-help] automatic ftp

I'm trying to embed something into some (C) code to automatically ftp
certain files over. Can I use the standard /usr/bin/ftp in some fashion,
or do I need to roll my own ftp client? If /usr/bin/ftp is good, how do I
control it from inside my code?
