One should always search the Web first!

I finally found a package called PS Utilities on Freshmeat and then
found it is a Debian package.  Included is a utility called epsffit that
adjusts the bounding box with given coordinates expressed in points.
So, after looking at my epsf file and a little work with the calculator,
I have the image placed exactly as I want it.

Now, I have an opportunity to do a bit of scritping to automate this
little task.
