[linux-help] Two drives in one

The motherboard in my Linux box went south so I bought a used Packard-Bell P100
with a
2.1GB drive. When I opened it up, there were two disks - a 1.2GB and an 850MB.
Both
Conner. There is a sticker on the top of each drive saying both drives must be
used as
a pair. One is jumpered for master, one for slave. One of them is going bad -
I don't
know which one.
Setup had only one drive listed, with a cyl no. a little less than the total of
the
numbers Conner gives. I changed setup to the values shown for the two disks
and dos
still only sees one. Fdisk sees only one of 2012MB. Has anyone ever run into a
situation like this? Splain it to me.
