It looks like you are missing the slip module. Diald uses a pseudo slip
interface when not connected via ppp. It can alternately use the ethertap
device, but from the looks of your log, it's not trying to find that
interface.  You probably also need to make sure that you have your login
name and password set in /etc/ppp/pap-secrets.
