Ok, thanks everyone for the greta responses. eth0 is init'd first, it
replys with "delayed" then PCMCIA starts and I get the first beep code
which says that it found a card. about a minute later I get another beep
code that says that it init'd the card ok. from my research I have found
that pcnet_cs.o is the module that should work. I have changed the startup
sequence to have PCMCIA start first but it doesn't seem to make a
difference. No matter how I set it up. it can't see out on the network,
and I can''t see in either. If I do an NSlookup, it just sits there till I
stoip it with a CTRL C and if I ping any address, it does the same. I am
so close. Any more ideas?
Oh, BTW this is still the FX410 Netgear card.

Subject: [linux-help] Linux on a Laptop
Hi all. I just did my first sucessfull install of mandrake7 on my Compaq
presario 1622 laptop. However I ham having no end of troubles getting my
PCMCIA net card to work. I have a Netgear FA410tx. I can still exchange it
out at CompUSA, but if the hardware is the problem, I need to know what kind
to buy. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jonathan
