I have never had any luck with University Help Desks.  If you talk about Gopher 
(or even Telnet or FTP), they either ignor you, or tell you that its a "legacy" 
system and they don't support it.

Ten or so months ago, I sent a letter to the University of Nevada
computing support department (or whatever their fancy marketing term
for it is). I never got a reply.
