Hello again,

In addition, I found a java applet, that shows current satellite
coverage on/to Earth -
http://science.nasa.gov/Realtime/jtrack/3d/JTrack3d.html - which IMO
should be considered in this thread too -- there are lots of sats, and
apparently some can see a whole half of the planet.

Also there's a chronology of spy satellites -
http://www.infomanage.com/international/intelligence/spychron.html -
which could (I haven't read it yet) help to find an appropriate minor
wonder for satellite technology.
