Interesting situation.  If you go to the link and then follow another 
link to the text of the message FreeCNC got from EA, it looks like some 
cluebie at EA thought FreeCNC was a warez site offering downloads of 
EA's original CNC.

That suggests that it's not a very good idea to use a name similar to 
the original, even apart from trademark issues.  If they hadn't 
referred to EA's CNC, EA probably wouldn't have ever heard of them.

BTW, does anyone know whether anyone is keeping an archive of IP 
threats against free software, and how things turned out in each case?  
It sure would be an interesting and useful resource.
