Did you try the large Engels tileset?  I find them easiest on the eyes.

I suspect it would be a copyright violation to distribute it _at_all_, or even
to use it yourself if you don't own the original game.


But Marco's question brings up an interesting idea.  Is anyone interested in
creating a "symbolic" tileset, one that uses readily distinguished symbols
rather than pictures?  It might even be easier to create, since it would
presumably consist of geometric shapes rather than hand-drawn shapes.

If anyone does that, I would suggest a 45x45 design size for exactly the
situation Marco describes, though some people might prefer symbols to pictures
even at the smaller sizes.  (Lots of wargames let you select between pictures
and semi-standard military iconography -- though I'm not necessarily
suggesting that iconography for this application.)
