I know about at least two projects trying to reimplement MOO2. Both of them are
written in Java. One is called universe, you should find it maybe at freshmeat
and almost certainly at happypenguin. As far as my information is correct the
development on this project is almost halted. The other one has no name (up to
now) and is programmed by some friends of mine. They started about half
a year ago and promised to me to open up an official website as soon as 
possible :-). They are more or less actively pursuing the task.
