                In the current world it does, hence the reason it fails.  In
a fresh world, I think pure communism would work well until it encountered a
capitalistic one.  From then on, human greed would take over, causing the
communist state to become more like Stalinism, Leninism, etc.  

                For example, there are many people throughout the world who
do not know they are poor until someone from elsewhere tells them so.
Women's Rights came about in a similar manner.  Up to a point, women simply
didn't think for themselves.  Then one did, and spread it around.  Within
time, millions of women spoke out against male oppression.
