On Ubuntu Dapper: I have downloaded the tar.gz files. Unzipped, ./configure, make and then make install. N o serious errors. However although there is an icon in the games menu no freeciv appears. If I try civclient from the CLI then I get;

:~$ civclient
1: Did not read help texts
0: No usable default tileset found, aborting!

freeciv-2.1.0-beta1 installed and worked just fine.
