Good idea!
A little more power for the land units would be nice. Maybe like a "weak
alpine" it would cost 1 on each terrain (it can move on) and would have
2 movements?
What i miss a bit from war is something like in startcraft, when every
unit had it's weakness and a "nemesis" which was especially strong
againts it. Especially in the early/mid game naval units. They're simple
now, u only have to use the strongest available of them (caravell, later
fregattes, later clads). More alternatives together with a less linear
techtree and some change in tech stealing (eg u only can get/steal techs
w/ capturing/bribing which u know all the prereqs) would made these
stages more interesting i think.
