Has anyone attempted this before? I am doing so, because for my project
goals I find that trying to maintain clunky Cygwin or MinGW tools is
more trouble than it's worth. Too easy to have an inconsistent build
environment. In fact, using those I've never been able to build more
than Xaw. Given what I'm skilled and not skilled at, it's far easier
for me to convert the project to VS 2003 than to try to figure out
Cygwin / MinGW horrors.

I'm aware that there's some Cygwin library stuff to get rid of, that
extra coding is needed to do this. But so far it has not looked too
bad. Plus in the worst case I have the option to ditch multiplayer.
Better to get a mostly usable version going if not a completely usable
one. Leave it to someone else to figure out.

Just wondering if anyone has made this attempt before, and if so, what
problems you ran into?

Cheers, www.indiegamedesign.com
