And here's another valgrind output.

I ran gtk2 civclient under valgrind.  I started one game but was 
disconnected after a few turns (forgot to set pingtimeout).  So then I 
started another game, after about 15 turns it got unplayably slow, so I 
did /endgame and then disconnected.  Then I started a third game, but 
was disconnected (pingtimeout again [1]) before the nation selection 
dialog even popped up (of course it still popped up, and was then popped 
down).  Then I quit.

This took an unreasonably long time, and I'm probably not up for doing 
it again too soon.

[1] When the server resets, all options are reset too.  I was expecting 
pingtimeout to still have the same value as in the previous game.
