Not currently, but it is one of the generalizing changes that should
probably come not too far down the road.

A lot of this stuff is hardwired because of the original cylindrical
Earth map. Once the first round of generalizations are in, a lot of
the cleanups like this become much easier to recode.

Also, I wouldn't hurt to have a bit of discussion and do an RFC for
someof these sorts of changes to capture a little more than what one
gets by mini-hacks, unless of course the mini-hack is trivial and
localized.

No excuses needed ... this is an excellent and obvious extension.
