Thanks for the heads-up.  I didn't find that when I
was looking for an open-source Colonization clone --
but that could easily have been more than 2 years ago.

Considering that the last version release was 6 months
ago, and you can't even build a city, I still think
more progress might have been made if they had started
with a fork of freeciv.

Of course, the real point of my suggestions are to
make freeciv more fun to play (in my opinion,
naturally) rather than simply cloning other
turn-based, developmental, world-conquest games.
