The metaserver code has at times supported the civserver -s option.
This option allows the person who starts civserver to set an explicit
hostname that the metaserver is supposed to display, overriding the
hostname or IP number it sees itself.

I haven't checked if this is still supported at the moment.
A problem is that the hostname can simply be wrong.
civclients selecting it would connect to the wrong civserver
or none at all.

It is not very clear how this should be handled.
I have witnessed two cases of use:

1. The server is globally accessible, but the name displayed
by the metaserver isn't the name the civserver operator
likes to see. (DNS or NAT trouble.)

The metaserver can be made to double check if the same civserver
that sent the request can be reached under the given name and
use the given name in that case. This would be nice.

2. The civserver has a local IP address under which it
can *not* be accessed globally, and the announcement on the
metaserver is only intended for local players. (Firewalls
with NAT may cause this to happen.)

This type of entry should probably not be allowed on
a global metaserver at all. TO accomodate LAN-only tournaments
players should set up their own metaserver. THis may be
   supported in the future.
