The functions are there... or the system header files would be REALLY broken.
You just need to link to the respective library.
The problem is BeOS has 2 networking API's: Network Kit and BONE. The
Network Kit is broken and buggy (or so I heard). BONE was never actually
released because Be was working on it when it went belly up. But some
people use leaked beta versions of BeOS that have BONE.

I can't do anything until I know if he is using BONE or not. Even then I am not
certain we should be wasting our time supporting broken APIs on dead OSes.
