Here is my comment as a non-developer on this:
There are so many patches around! Apply these, as much as you can,
else only accept bugfixes, and then go straight (and quick) to the
next release. Push out a beta, and then test a lot!
I think it is frustrating for contributors, when they write patches
again and again, which get never applied, only because nobody has
time to review.
