Yes, we desperately need people to help testing patches being posted to
the list. If you'd like, please test them and report back your experiences
and any praise/criticism.

Sounds good. Will do. I play FreeCiv about once a week with a friend, so I'll get him to help test as well.

Any particular way I should check out patches? I mean, just use the CVS frequently, or download and apply individual patches to a stable release?

Also, any documentation on the chat functions of FreeCiv? I'm interested in that area since I'm sure I can help out with my knowledge of Jabber. I'll make a post explaining Jabber and how it improves upon the current method (or is weaker than, also, for that matter). I can't find any docs on the website about that, though.
