I made it with a small editor I've made to see how it would look like.
I've been reading your mails and it seems that I used almost the same
algorithm that Steve Hodge explains at
http://arch.freeciv.org/freeciv-dev-200008/msg00625.html
I started with an icosahedron and divided each triangle into smaller
ones, then I made a tile out of each vertex. Since you discused this in
2000, are you already implementing it?
I know nothing about Freeciv code, and I've never participated in a
proyect bigger than a small program made by me for me, but I'd be happy
to help. If you want, I could send you the sources of the editor.
