[Freeciv-Dev] Comments in .diff

Is it possible to add commnets into a .diff file such that the patch
command will skip them?  That would be handy.  Of course when one is
adding code (s)he should comment it in the source.  But when one is
removing some redundant code, it would be good explaining it in the patch
but not in the code itself.
