Hello,
I have spoken with Reimar and he told me that I should e-mail you to get some
changes to the /sounds/ page on freeciv.org which is "obsolete" (no, not
really).
I would propose the following changes:
The header can be unchanged but the green boxes should be removed. Instead it
would be nice if the people outside is telled the following:
+ A pre-CVS sound patch for freeciv is already available and can be downloaded
from FTP (soundpack-rev*.tar.gz). This patch only works on Linux & FreeBSD.
+ We need more sounds especially for events and for some special units. To see
what sounds are needed, please dl the soundpack - patch and look at the
freeciv.soundspec file. The sounds should be not more than 2 seconds long, not
too loud and be supported by "play".
+ You can make soundsets like tilesets, please check freeciv.soundspec for
details. If you have finished one and want to distribute it (maybe you are the
first one to complete one) please send it to David <tnt@xxxxxxxxx>.
+ We also need some coders for porting the sound patches to Windows, Amiga,
BeOS, OS/2 and the other systems.
+ For questions regarding the sound system, write an E-Mail to David
<tnt@xxxxxxxxx>.

It would be nice if you would add these comments. (But they should get
rewritten before)

Thanks,
David
