        We at the freecivAC project are working on this; we haven't
submitted any patches to the main freeciv project yet, since a) we've had
to make some major changes and b) a lot of it isn't stable yet.

        What I can tell you is that borders work (after a fashion) now;
modular units (and governments) have also been partially implemented. We
still have some work to do on the graphics for modular (we call them
compound) units, though, since ideally you want to combine the graphics
for each component to get the complete graphic - any ideas from the
freeciv community on the best way of going about this?

        terrain improvements really need a rewrite of the terrain ruleset,
and accompanying code. "Auto-everything" really relies on big AI
improvements. Perhaps we'll get onto these topics eventually...
