Yes, this is exactly what I mean.

Definately not as easy as random patching to the rules to accommodate
some personal taste.

Here are a few steps we can take:
1. A game scheduling system (proposed by Reinier)
2. Better scoring system (there was a huge thread on this)
3. Ability to develop an AI independantly without screwing up the current
   AI and without playing catchup with the CVS (protocol.ruleset?)
4. A supercomputer to train the AI!
