What do we have back from the moon race and the apollo mission? I
don't think it's much ... some few spin-off scientifical advances, like
the teflon material, resulting in better (?) frying pans and razors. We
would probably have had a lot of communication satellites even without
manned space flight.

ATOH, if we're ever to send colonization ships to Mars, it will be way
after a space station.

It might also be that certain things might be cheaper to produce in micro
gravity. A space station will certainly be the first step towards
satellite plants.

:)

I guess that applies for a lot of wonders.

Another thing ... when a wonder is beeing built and suddently
interrupted, the production points certainly cannot (in real life) be used
on another wonder ... _but_ in real life it's not unlikely that the
project can be started up again at a later point, without starting
completely from scratch. I think this happened with the St Isaacs
cathedral, for instance.

Cold and hot wars might be (and should be) started and ended by the
players themselves, through diplomatic actions.
