The time scale is way off.  Landslides caused by glaciers would be
realistic, they would be much like earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Also, the map generators could have a better notion of what mountains
are.  At the moment, they have no notion of height, as far as I can
see.  Glaciers are polar terrain types occurring in moderate zones due
to the local altitude.  A map generator based on heights can create
them automatically.  In the past, the suggestion was made to use a map
generator based on the principles of continental drift.  But the
present generators work well and nothing you do in this area would
improve Freeciv as a game, as far as I can see.

If natural disasters were implemented, how many players would enable them?
