So we need to exchange cookies with clients, which involves changing
the protocol.  This was on my wishlist for the cmdlevel patch, but we
decided it would be too much at once.  Now that the cmdlevel feature is
in the source, it would be the next step, but I don't think I have the
time to do it right in the coming weeks.  Feel free.
