I think your chances of getting raped/beaten/killed in prison are very
good (probably 100%) no matter what you did (or even didn't do) to get
there.  The State has an obligation to protect you while you are in their
custody and I think they generally don't take that obligation very
seriously.  In large part because of opinions of people on the outside
like yours.
