[aclug-L] SETI@Home Prize

I read on Slashdot today that SETI@Home is nearing the
half-billion mark for number of submitted results.  They're
also giving a $500 reward for the user who returns the
500-millionth result.  I went over to the SETI@Home page
(http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu), and over there it
says:

? April 23, 2002 ? 
The Wichita State University team has offered a $500 prize
to whoever returns the 500 millionth result!

So apparently it even has a local origin.  Normally my
distributed computing client of choice is distributed.net,
but for a chance at $500, sure I'll change for week or two
:-).

Current stats are: 497814690 total results received, 799821
in the last 24 hours.
