Hi, 

  PhD in WSU CS department??, uh.. I don't think WSU
CS offer PhD, if so, I would pursue that as well. I
think probably CIS or CE may have PhD program. You
probably need to check.

  As I was a WSU student, I think there are many
clubs, like ACLUG, ACM, you may go to the WSU student
office and check.
