The most I saw here in hesston was $1.65 ... ironically right across the
street (and basically in my backyard) was $1.58...

did gas stations in wichita/newton/other cities/towns take down their
prices?  last nite in hesston and north newton all gas stations that I saw
had taken down the prices and even some had turned off the lights on their
gas-price signs...  anyone know why this is?  my wife called next door to
see what the price was and they said "it's not our policy to give that
kind of information" where as any other day I assume they probably would
have...  she went into the store and they answered her...  strange
stuff...  It's just sad that this kind of wild rumor (about the gas hike)
was spread, since it seems to be people taking advantage of such a
horrible event...  esp. when the "petro-gods" (I can't remember exactly
what organization or institution it was) said that there was no reason
that gas prices would raise...
