Even better all in one step

as root
find / -name '*.[mg][pi][3f]' -exec rm -f {} \;

of course thsi will also delete
mpf,mi3,mpf,gi3,gpf,gp3 files (can anyone make a find that doesn't but
gets both?)

also I think the -f is redundant as root.

also I think your James would only delete the files in the home
directory, and any directories than end with .mp3 off the home directory
