Ironically, my box has been running with a 3.7G Maxtor for ~4 years.  The
cd-rom, floppy, and sound card have fried.  I've replaced the graphics card, 
monitor,
motherboard, CPU, and RAM voluntarily.  It was originally a CTX bought at Best
Buy by my Mom.  The Maxtor hard drive has kept up without a hitch all this time,
and the speed and noise are...well...better than my grandparent's Acer and
Packard Bell anyway (not saying much).  I still wouldn't reccomend Maxtor, as 
I've
heard plenty of testimony contradicting mine.  I guess i'm just lucky =)
