This is very simple to solve if you're running Debian.  My guess
is that the libX11 and libXext it's looking for should be compiled
against libc5.  Debian Slink has those compatibility libs available
as other programs like Acrobat Reader and Word Perfect 8 require them.

Other distributions may have similar packages avaliable.
