Start ftp with the -i flag to avoid confirmations. But better yet,
install ncftp... it's much better. ncftp allows full wild-carding and
will grab multiple directories. And it has file-name completion,
bookmarks, pagination of listings, various styles of progress meters, and
a whole bunch of other stuff. I can't live without it.

(Actually, I'm finding I can live without a bunch of stuff. I just
started working for Boeing Unix Technical Services as an HP-UX admin.
Yesterday I discovered that not only are emacs, bash, and less *not*
installed on any of the 200 HP servers in this group... they aren't
approved by the applications standard for this group of machines; I'm not
allowed to install them. I have to live with plain-vanilla vi, ksh, and
more until I can get my preferred tools onto the application standard for
this group of machines. At least I forced myself to use vi for six months
a few years ago so I'd know it when I needed it. Needless to say, ncftp
isn't on the approved list either.)
