it is locking up ttyS3, (my modem) and the lock file is set up to
ttyS1(onboard serial port 2)
Which disables the modem(it dials out, and as it is setting up with the server,
it hangs up just
as connection is made.) Also parallel port has a lock file on it also. I take
the
s1:234:respawn:/etc/mgetty..... off the inittab (# added to first of line)
the modem (PPP0)
and the printer both start working on reboot. If I remover the # from it and
reboot, modem and
printer stop. If I try uugetty, I get respawning too quickly deactivating s1
for 5 minutes.
When I log on to Linux side, I will copy the inittab and config file for S1 and
send it to the
list. ( I was on Micro$oft windoz doing home work for work (I wrtie in VC++)
[too lazy to learn
gtk-although I am now reading the howto!] )
