MPG is pretty well avaialble on all platforms. Old QT formats are (QT3 and
newer I don't think is viewable in Linux). AVI is pretty standard.
It depends a lot on what the content is, I suppose. You might try encoding
it in several formats, and see which is the smallest. Possibly even make
several formats available online, so people can choose their prefernce.
