Oh really? I've had Maxtors running 24/7 for 8 years now and no problems. I
can't say the same thing about WD's though. I think it's more a luck of the
draw sort of thing. The larger the manufacturer, the more likely you are
to see their drives, and hence more likely to see a failed drive.

I suspect that CompUSA has a stake in Maxtor. At least their corporate
headquarters is two doors down from Maxtor's. And CompUSA has private
labeled Maxtor Drives. Just coincidence?
