I am not real knowing of Wichita, but when I had my store, I tried to shy away
from monitors, as if it was not simple, it was easy for one of my technicians
to go over the value of the monitor. AS most people, at the first sign of
trouble, are looking for an excuse to buy a monitor, and I found out when the
repair bill reached 35 to 40% of the value of a new one, I had a lemon on my
hands. The high voltage transformer cost 70 to 100 dollars alone! The pix
tube usually cost 3/4 the cost of an entire new one! THese are prices from
the late eighties, but, do not be surprised if no one really wants to bother
with them. Our company does not even bother, they pull them and throw them in
the compactor, usually after a short inspection.
