I don't know about Marion, but I've never gotten faster then 48kbps from my
house here in Wichita to Southwind (using 2 different 56k modems). I've
always attributed it to bad phone lines. My usual connection speed is 44kbps
and it's a lot faster then 33.6, so I'm not complaining much.

Should I be doing better then that?
