Hello all,

I have got a puzzle at hand. Whan i am looged on as normal user in my
linux box and do a 'whoami' i got the following reply:

whoami:cannot find username for uid 500

/etc/password shows the username fine. Deleting and adding same user
didnt help.

(adduser user/userdel user)

Now what's the problem here and how can i fix it?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mohammed.
