Another option would be to install from a parallel port zip drive. There's
a HOWTO that describes the process. I've considered doing this for a
CD-less old 386 that I was thinking about using for a router (but haven't
actually done it).
There's another HOWTO that describes setting an entire Linux system up to
boot from a ppa zip drive. Sounds slow to me! Hope you never have to swap,
ouch. I think the idea was that you could take an entire network
troubleshooting kit with you whereever you go and could boot it on virtually
any old PC that happens to be around (with a boot floppy and a ppa zip
drive).
