In order for it to show up there, you need to have Samba installed,
and I believe you have to set browsable to yes in the smb.conf file.

If you're not using Microsoft Networking on your Linux boxes, there is
no need to have samba, and no harm if it doesn't show up in Network
Neighborhood.
