Hi All.

Several weeks back I was in "one of those moods" and wrote a rant email
in which I lambasted the printing capabilities found in Linux. Since
that time I've been fortunate to discover my problem. It seems I had
played with the Freefont package some months back and had tried their
suggestion of placing the freefont directory as the first directory in
my GSFONTS path. As luck would have it I was looking to fix something
else this past week and saw that and decided to put the ghostscript
fonts back as the first directory. The results were stunning and Type 1
fonts print crisp and clear through Ghostscript 5.50 on my HP DJ-600.

Perhaps this just proves that at 35 I'm getting too old and senile for
this newfangled Linux stuff...No! I'm not going back to MS Windows,
ever!! Acrobat Reader now rivals anything anywhere. Word Perfect 8 is
sweet. I'm looking forward to the full package arriving in the stores.

I hope 1.999 K finds everyone in ACLUG land in good health.
